Methodology
Every row is a verbatim sentence read from the named source's own page through our fetch service on the date shown, hash-pinned to the stored read (the sha of the page's visible text; the raw page is mirrored to R2).
7 of the 45 named sources that could be read published a usable figure; 38 published none and are recorded as not published, never filled in; 2 could not be read (blocked, dead or unreachable) and count nowhere.
The headline figures (median, minimum, maximum, quartiles) are over ONE figure per source for each breakdown it prices, in EUR (a source's median where its page yielded several accepted sentences for one breakdown), so a page that gives figures for several breakdowns gives one for each and N counts 11 figures, never sentences; 613 candidate sentence(s) were refused by a reviewer with the reason recorded.
The fuller derivation this dataset is chartered to grow into (not yet what the figures above are; they are each source's own published figure as read): the median, quartiles and full spread of the INSTALLED price each installer or supplier publishes on its own site, cut four ways at once - country (DE, NL, FR, GB), system (air-to-water heat pump, ground source, hybrid, mono-split, multi-split, monobloc, portable), room or kW band, and gross versus net of the subsidy from the rate table - plus the share of the market that publishes a figure at all against those that answer only 'ask for a quote'.
The cross-country column is the figure nobody has: the same 12,000 BTU wall-mounted split costs one thing in Manchester and another in Marseille, and until the four currencies and four subsidy regimes are put on one row the buyer cannot see it.
